The On-Ramp website is a set of lessons and extra materials that help people with developmental disabilities use a computer and the Internet. As of now, there are four sets of lessons. Each lesson has the same format and extra materials that add information, give practice, or are just fun.
These lessons cover the most basic things people need to learn to get started using a computer and the Internet.
We call each set of lessons a section. The sections include:
Each section includes several individual lessons. Each lesson follows a simple-to-navigate format. Example lessons include The Machines, Booting Up & Shutting Down, Keyboard, and Mouse. These are all in the section Computer Basics.
Visitors navigate through each lesson using clear, large navigation buttons and can increase or decrease the lesson text size to suit individual need. Each page of every lesson has a voice option for people who would like the page read aloud. People can work at their own pace. They can move forward or go back at any time.
